Smart Scholarship Program – Smart Scholarship 2022

SMART provides scholarships to undergraduate, master's, and doctorate students studying in one of 21 STEM subjects. The Science, Mathematics, and Research for Transformation (SMART) Scholarship-for-Service Students pursuing bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degrees in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) areas are eligible for this programme. After graduation, SMART students receive full tuition, annual stipends, internships, and guaranteed employment with the Department of Defense (DoD). Following graduation, SMART students will be hired as DoD civilians. The program's goal is to expand the number of civilian scientists and engineers working in DoD labs and sites. Current undergraduate and graduate students studying one of the 21 STEM subjects eligible for funding are encouraged to apply. The SMART Scholarship-for-Service Program was founded as a concerted attempt to increase the number of smart, inventive, and brilliant scientists, engineers, and researchers in the Department of Defense (DoD) workforce. SMART Scholars have been working with our labs and organizations inside the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Additional DoD for over a decade to assist the war fighter and make an impact to defend our nation. SMART Scholars enroll in the programme to further their education in some of the most in-demand disciplines in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). The initiative provides scholarships to STEM undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students. Students will receive complete tuition, monthly stipends, health insurance, and book allowances while in school, as well as summer internships ranging from 8 to 12 weeks. Scholars begin working in a civilian role with their sponsoring facility after completing their degree. Internships and job experience provide academics with the chance to study from some of the brightest minds in STEM and Defence. Scholars not only follow their interests in their different fields throughout their school period, but they also embark on a road toward an empowering job to preserve national security.
